Biography


Dan Hein was born in Tulsa, OK. He attended Central High with “Leon Russell”, “David Gates” and “JJ Cale”.

The Tulsa R&B sound can be heard in his many hit records as lead singer and keyboardist for “The Fabulous Flippers”. These hits include “The Harlem Shuffle”, “I donŐt want to cry” “Summertime” and others.

HeinŐs later efforts as a record producer and singer, songwriter for ÔCalliope” and “Heinsight” landed him contracts with “Hi Records” ( Al GreenŐs label), “Cameo Parkway” “Churchill” and “Reflections” records”. He wrote several regional hits that reached Billboard MagazineŐs top 20. These hits include “Learn from the burn” “Under Pressure” and “Can you feel my heartbeat” recorded by Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis.

Hein is in “The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in several states including Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.
